I completed a long-form feature story package for my senior journalism capstone class. I researched, edited, wrote, and filmed the story. This story is about a Yugoslavian immigrant achieving his American dream.
I completed this documentary for my in-depth documentary reporting class. The story exposes and discusses the health effects that Cancer Alley has on the people in its community. I contributed to this documentary by providing all the research. In addition, I found the interviewees and conducted interviews.
I completed a data-driven package for my senior journalism capstone class. This is a data-driven story concerning new and used car prices and where the market is headed. I worked with two other people on this story. I conducted the interview with Jamie Kurash and researched and wrote the story.
The Cold Case class reports and produces enterprise projects for the LSU Cold Case Project. I am working with a team on the investigation into the killing of a Black man in Baton Rouge by FBI agents in 1973. I researched and found the identity and history of the two FBI agents. In addition, I combed through 700 pages of FOIA documents. We worked on our project throughout the semester and finished writing the piece by the end of the semester. Our professor will send the story for publication to more than 90 news sites that run stories from the LSU Manship School Statehouse Bureau. I gained deeper skills in researching, reporting, and organizing large amounts of information. We started the class in the Fall 2022 semester and plan to publish in the Spring 2023 semester.
The Dark Side of Sports Betting in Louisiana
The In-Depth Reporting class focused on producing an investigative writing piece to bring attention to a controversial issue in a community. I worked on an investigative story with a team of two other people concerning The Dark Side of Sports Betting in Louisiana. I interviewed multiple sources from various backgrounds in gambling for this story. In addition, I researched and collected data on all the aspects of gambling in Louisiana.
